About Us

Our History

Founded in 1976 by the esteemed dancer and choreographer Elena Zakharova in Penza, Russia, NIKA International Academy began as a youth dance program and has since evolved into a prestigious, globally recognized dance school.

In 2004, we expanded our program to studios in the United States, enabling our dancers to compete in both national and international competitions. This transition has led to remarkable achievements, with our dancers becoming US National finalists and champions, as well as World Open finalists.

Many of our original NIKA students have flourished in their dance careers, becoming accomplished professional ballroom and Latin coaches, adjudicators, performers, and choreographers. Their talents have graced popular television shows such as "Dancing with the Stars" in the US and Russia, "America's Got Talent," "Oprah," and more.

At our academy, we specialize in competitions and are dedicated to helping our students excel both nationally and internationally. Expert Coaching for Competitive Couples

Our directors, Elena Zakharova, Katia Zakharoff, and Michael Levenkov, are available for guest coaching sessions tailored specifically for competitive couples.

We are conveniently located in Bellevue at 12121 Northup Way, Unit 112, situated between downtown and the Crossroads.

Our Programs Include:

• Group Classes: For children ages 3-4, 4-6, and 7-10.

• Syllabus Competitive Classes: For children ages 7-10.

• Social Dance Courses: Designed for adults of all levels.

• Private Lessons: Tailored for any age and skill level.

• Championship Level Classes: For children ages 10-14, youth, and adults.

• Weekly Supervised Competition Rounds: Open to all competitive dancers on one of the largest dance floors in the area.
